Purchase Suggestions: Young girl 8-12 years | Budget <$300

Kids can be tough to buy for especially with a budget. But it doesn't have to be like that. And what's better than seeing your child out enjoying the sunshine, having the time of their life. Because let's face it, you're never sad when you're wearing roller skates!

Skates: The things to look for in a pair of skates for kids include, Good quality boot, soft wheels (however most kids will make any wheel work for them), colour and then whether you need to allow room for growth or not.

Protective gear: Protect their bodies, we want them skating for as long as possible and while kids do 'bounce', gravity isn't always kind to a beginner. (even the pros fall over). Combo packs are a great way to ensure your young one is protected and will still save you a bit of money.

Helmet: Soft foam skate helmets are usually all that is needed for skating. But if you have a dare devil or if your child also rides a bike then maybe consider a certified helmet. The safety rating is higher and certified means that has been tested and approved for the use on bicycles.

Now the challenge... Is this all possible under $300? We think so! No, we know so.

Budget starter skates, for those children that you aren't sure if they're going to stick it out or not.
